BRIEF
SARU tasked us to do one thing – bring in a fan engagement property that would blow the spectators away and make the Cape Town 7s experience the most talked-about leg of the HSBC World Sevens Series.
RESULTS
We produced a 2-day fan engagement experience different to anything that World Rugby has seen before. Our massive amount of screen real-estate displayed content from 6 cameras and a 32:9 multi-switcher, co-ordinated by a 20-man crew. Content elements like Kiss Cams, an 80s-themed Power Hour, and a never-before-seen Band Cam kept the energy levels sky-high while the live game, upcoming fixtures and results were constantly on display. The result was that the HSBC Cape Town 7s was one of the most talked about Rugby Events of the year.

WHAT WE DID
To meet the brief, we went into R&D for 6 months, studying the latest activations and technology being employed in stadiums around the world. We worked with industry leaders in technology, structural engineering, show presentation, health and safety, and broadcasting. Then we set about building the largest-ever temporary in-stadium screen on the African continent. The top level of the Cape Town Stadium was spanned by an arresting 320 square meters of screen in a 32:9 format.
