Sanlam Cape Town Marathon
With Sanlam Cape Town Marathon positioning themselves as a virtual race like no other, they seeked assistance in creating an immersive audio experience and user journey that would be delivered through a bespoke app on their annual race day.
We created and developed an immersive audio narrative delivered through 52 individual clips that were brought to life by local comedian Dalin Oliver. Each audio experience was set to be triggered at a specific distance along the route, allowing the story to unfold throughout the race.
WHAT WE DID
Research was our starting point to truly understand all the routes, available points of interest as well as the audience make up of the race. Our creative team worked closely with tourism and historical resources to identify an overarching theme which was relevant to the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon brand. The audio development process was intensive consisting of; on-location recordings from all across Cape Town, 3D sound design and advanced mixing techniques.
