BRIEF
Develop a TV series around Red Bull Dance Your Style South Africa which incorporates an element of historical dance footage in order to create awareness and attendance to future events.
RESULTS
The story of the 2021/22 Dance Your Style competition through the individual dancers themselves. The five episode series takes the viewer through an educational process of the dance culture in South Africa and why these dancers perform. The story behind what the public is used to. Take the title provides a medium for the dancers to showcase their nuances, attributes and personality to the world, as a result audience members can build a degree of affinity.
WHAT WE DID
A 15-day shoot with a small key crew capturing a combination of highly visual dance sequences, live events and personal backstories. From a cramped hotel room in Pretoria and a makeshift ‘set’ in a hotel basement parking lot to mobile stage at Monte Casino and activations at Red Bull HQ, telling these dancers stories was non-stop dynamism.
