One of our defining projects, Around the World in 80 Days, followed Scottish cyclist Mark Beaumont as he set a Guinness World Record for cycling around the globe in just 78 days, 14 hours, and 40 minutes. This remarkable feat shattered the previous record of 123 days held by New Zealand’s Andrew Nicholson, a former Olympic speed skater. Beaumont’s epic journey was documented by MoonSport, capturing daily content and updates from across the world.
The 80-day campaign reached over 5 million viewers on Facebook and YouTube, engaging an expanding fan base that tuned in daily to follow his progress. This project was a thrilling example of the possibilities of global, daily content production, and it showcased how engaging storytelling can grow and maintain a dedicated audience. For us, this campaign highlighted that even the most ambitious challenges can be met with creativity and resilience. It also underscored South Africa’s world-class content production capabilities, proving that our local teams and technology can excel on the world stage. This experience reinforced our belief in social media’s power to amplify inspiring stories in real time, reaching audiences far beyond borders.
